Additional Information: Apollo is the picture of a perfect family dog! He loves all people and does extremely well with older children. In his foster home, he lives with two 11 and 13-year-old children, and does great with them. Apollo is also an extremely friendly boy! He loves to come up to both people and other dogs and try to make friends. Because he’s still young, Apollo loves to play. He loves his toys, and he’s so cute and goofy. Apollo can also be cool and calm. He loves snuggling with his people and midday snoozes. He’s also extremely smart and takes well to new commands. Right now, he knows “sit,” and has almost perfected “lie down.” As if Apollo could be anymore endearing, he has a beautiful heterochromia, with one of his brown eyes being half blue. Apply today to meet this beautiful boy!

Apollo is generously sponsored by Beth Barnes and family in celebration of the holidays.

If you are interested in meeting a dog, we require an adoption application. Visit http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adopt.html to apply.

If a dog has "NEEDS FOSTER" listed, they are still available for adoption. City Dogs Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Prior to arrival, all of our dogs are spayed/neutered (unless specified) and given shots for Rabies, Distemper DHPP, and Bordatella. They are tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia. They are dewormed at least twice and given a health check by the vet.
Most dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken or crate trained.
Our adoption fee is $395 (including puppies) unless noted -- senior dogs are available for an adoption fee of $200.

We do our best to disclose all health records and known health conditions to adopters. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations and health tests, but does not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR & CK.  City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.

We also update our
Facebook page
daily with new dogs.
